The Kuwait Environment Protection Society affirmed that the celebration of World Migratory Bird Day, which falls in the second week of May, coincides with its ongoing calls for safe passage routes for flocks of migratory birds and for them to be left undisturbed. In this regard, Jenan Behzad, the Society's Secretary, stated that "disturbances to these birds increase during migration periods when they are present in large numbers and face greater problems immediately upon arrival..."
