The Kuwaiti Society for Environmental Protection concluded the first forum and exhibition for Kuwaiti environmental engineers, which it organized under the patronage of the Prime Minister, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah, who was represented at the opening ceremony by the Minister of Oil, Tariq Suleiman Al-Roumi. The event was held at the Cultural Center at Kuwait University during the period from the 5th to the 6th of this month.
Engineer Sarah Al-Ramzi, President and Founder of the Environmental Engineers Team at the Association, confirmed that the forum witnessed, over two days, 5 scientific sessions that reflected the most prominent sectors of the work of environmental engineers, presented by experts and specialists, noting that the scientific sessions dealt with “crisis and disaster management, the future of renewable and alternative energy, pollution reduction technologies, solid and liquid waste management, and the development of water projects.”.
Ms. Al-Ramzi explained that “the forum was designed to foster an inclusive environment where seasoned professionals and emerging environmental engineers can exchange knowledge and collaborate, inspiring more students to study environmental engineering and consider scholarships to expand their expertise.” She announced that the environmental engineers team looks forward to encouraging alliances with fields interested in promoting sustainable development practices for Kuwait’s future, stressing that the invitation is open to a diverse group of participants, including Kuwaiti environmental engineering graduates, educators, industry leaders, and government policymakers, to join our leading platform to engage in these modern, sustainable fields, enriching various business sectors, both governmental and private.
She noted that “each environmental engineer who participated in the forum and exhibition was allocated a booth to showcase their engineering project as a graduation project, to present their innovative ideas and solutions in various fields,” adding, “This event allowed engineers to communicate directly with the public and leaders to highlight their engineering capabilities in various fields, so that the first forum paves the way for successful forums in the coming years, which will result in the preparation of a database documenting the excellence of these engineers in special forum publications.”.
The head of the organizing committee for the forum, Engineer Sarah Al-Ramzi, praised His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah for his official patronage of the first Kuwaiti Environmental Engineers Forum and Exhibition. She also commended the presence of Oil Minister Tariq Suleiman Al-Roumi, representing His Highness the Prime Minister, at the opening of the forum and exhibition. She praised the gold sponsorship of the event, represented by the Kuwait Oil Company and the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, as well as the logistical support of the Kuwait Gulf Oil Company, Kuwait University, the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences, Kit Bag Company, PDF Company, and Blur Line Company. In addition, she praised the entities, institutions, bodies, and companies participating in the accompanying exhibition, which included about 25 pavilions through which governmental and private entities, bodies, and institutions displayed models of their diverse projects in related fields.
