The Environmental Engineers Team of the Kuwaiti Society for Environmental Protection participated in launching an awareness campaign for the scientific and technical program of the 8th World Petroleum Council Energy Youth Forum 2025, organized by the Ministry of Oil under the patronage of His Excellency Minister Tariq Al-Roumi. Engineer Yousef Al-Ramzi, Vice President and official spokesperson for the team, stated that “Kuwait’s hosting of this forum under the theme ”Empowering the Future: Connecting Youth with Ideas and Knowledge“ confirms that petroleum culture flourishes through the integration of long-standing experience and creative young talent.” He added that “the forum serves as a platform for dialogue among the various participating entities and organizations, along with their representatives from national expertise and Kuwaiti youth.” The Vice President of the Environmental Engineers Team at the Kuwaiti Society for Environmental Protection stated that “team members Eng. Hussein Bourmana, Eng. Adel Al-Azmi, and Eng. Mai Al-Qattan participated in the forum as part of the local participations.” He emphasized that “the team’s participation in the 8th World Petroleum Energy Youth Forum 2025 aligns with Kuwait’s New Vision 2035 and the Kuwaiti Action Plan, which prioritizes empowering youth and developing human capital by elevating young national talent and showcasing their skills, capabilities, and potential, in accordance with the Society’s vision of active participation with the surrounding community regionally and internationally.” For his part, Eng. Hussein Bourmana, a member of the Environmental Engineers Team, explained that “the team’s annual work program is diverse and includes a variety of activities, ranging from organizing specialized awareness activities on environmental engineering issues to local, regional, and international participations, in addition to organizing workshops and lectures, promoting the study of environmental science and engineering, and, most importantly, organizing the annual forum and exhibition for Kuwaiti environmental engineers.” Eng. Mai Al-Qattan, a member of the team, stated that “the team’s participation in the forum encompassed all themes, including a focus on empowering youth in four areas: sustainable change, innovation, strategic leadership, and a mentorship program. This program aimed to provide young people with opportunities to share their opinions, learn from experiences, and engage in open discussions and dialogues to develop their soft skills. The goal is for the new generation to play an active role in the future of the energy sector, develop ideas, and effectively persuade older generations of the value of new concepts that facilitate solutions to numerous challenges. Furthermore, the team participated in a session discussing artificial intelligence and its applications in the energy sector.” In the same vein, team member Eng. Adel Al-Azmi emphasized that “the Environmental Engineers Team believes that youth are the cornerstone of sustainable development and a vital and active force in shaping decision-making and the future. Therefore, recent events and activities have been organized to qualify many young people through specialized training programs, preparing a generation of environmental engineers capable of assuming leadership positions and contributing effectively to the development of the work environment. This contributes to fostering a scientific and technological engineering culture among young people and linking it to environmental and professional responsibility.”.
