Engineer Yousef Abdulredha Al-Ramzi, the official spokesperson and Vice President of the Environmental Engineers Team at the Kuwait Environment Protection Society, held a technical meeting with Engineer Roua Al-Muhaysin, Membership and Coordination Assistant at the West Asia Office of the International Union for Conservation of Nature in the Jordanian capital, Amman, to agree on submitting and improving the follow-up of the Society’s membership and its chairmanship of the National Committee of the Union in the State of Kuwait, in addition to updating the basic system and internal regulations of the Committee and learning about the services provided by the Union.
During the meeting, which appeared to be a coordination and introductory workshop, Engineer Al-Ramzi presented the outputs and achievements of the committee at the national level in the State of Kuwait, including the most prominent works and efforts related to the fields of the Union, through the presentation of the Kuwaiti entities included in the committee of their achievements during the two years that the Kuwait Environment Protection Society assumed its presidency.
Mr. Al-Ramzi reviewed the most important proposals discussed at the meeting, including the importance of linking global goals to local needs in member states and unifying the efforts of members from various sectors. Activating the regional committee is a strategic step to enhance cooperation among countries, exchange expertise, build capacity, and unify positions to address shared environmental challenges.
He added that regarding the tasks of the national committees, there are several proposals submitted by the head of the National Committee of the Union in Kuwait, Dr. Wajdan Al-Aqab, to the President of the International Union for Conservation of Nature, Dr. Razan Mubarak, and to Dr. Hani Al-Shaer, the Regional Director of the Union for West Asia, including: establishing a basic system for the national committees, and this task falls on the head of each committee, designing an internal regulation that organizes work within the committee, and attracting new groups and members to the national committees. The proposal was well received by the officials present because of its positive impact on improving the performance of the national committees in an organizational step.
